I'll give the show a shot. I'm not in it for the merch at all anymore, just the show so we'll see how the next one is.

That said, I've kindof lost interest in the current show, to be honest. I'm just watching to finish out the series since I might as well after getting this far. I don't know if it's just that I'm in a different place in my life now than I was 8 years ago, or if I'm just not into where the show is now and the same old episodes I loved would still speak to me. I guess I should rewatch and find out sometime.

Now there's a man I can respect.

Being caught up in the manga, and without giving away specific spoilers, I can reassure Mei will be back soon, possibly even this season, given the amount of episodes to go. She's also my favorite character, which is funny because she doesn't seem very interesting in the manga, but the anime improved her so much, especially her introduction scene in the sports festival, that was unforgettable. She's not a hero though, only those in the hero course itself will become heroes, she only makes the equipment to support the actual heroes.

I had a weird opinion of Toga at first, I thought the "creepy murderous schoolgirl" depiction wasn't going to cut it for a villain, but there's something so great about her, especially since I love the way her face is drawn (which the author claims is pretty difficult). And once again, the animation makes it even better.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

One thing that I find funny is how I want to bash how there is a clear black and white morality, with the whole heroes vs villains thing, and how the villains don't have much more going to them other than that they want to be evil for the sake of it. Yet at the same time their depiction is really great, even if at the end most will root for the hero side anyway.

Well you know what they say, great minds think alike. Her 'fight' against Iida in the tournament arc was one of my favorite scenes from the whole show.

I agree on the point with Toga, the way she is portrayed and animated is just so perfect, really adds another level to her character. Don't know why but I just really like characters who are a bit crazy. On the whole I like the villains a lot more than previously, like the guy who can create clones of other people with his quirk. I'm really bad with names so I can't really remember his...

FRANXX is going in directions I've never seen before in anime.

This is the anime that has kept me surprised every week, I honestly love the fact that I don't know if the next episode will be SoL (to an extent) or a Mech fight.

Season 8 / Re: 8x10 - The Break Up Break Down

Well this episode reminds me of Love American Style, like an anthology about love. As usual Discord is hilarious, and get to see our male team back together.

I love that the show is self aware to mention all these tropes, like the misunderstanding. Big Mac should know better than to jump to conclusion, almost got him in trouble.

I love that Spike's cousin story actual is what happened, though we don't an explanation for the we're finished line.

So we are going to see more of Sugar Belle, she is a good character, though she doesn't know what she is getting into working with Pinkie Pie.

As for the B story, Sweetiebelle thinking she has a secret admiring was kind of cute, and I love the ship chart. Nice touch. And it is officially Lyra and Bon Bon are a couple, don't deny it anymore Hasbro.

Anyway great episode I enjoyed it.

Honestly, kind of on the fence. Gen 4 really holds a soft spot in my heart, and I'm not exactly ready or willing to say fare well to it. However, if the show is good (and exhibits at least Season 2 level of care and quality bare minimum), I'll certainly be rather approving.

With this said, i'm undecided on watching it. Still have episodes of Gen 4 to catch up on at the moment, so it's not like I'm going to be in short supply right now.

I'm kind of excited about it, if only to see how much of the creative team is fresh faces, what they do with the characters, and if they manage to regain some of the spark of early Gen 4. Who knows, maybe it'll be good.
