What's with the thread necromancy? Was this really necessary?

Personally, I'm not saying that I have a problem with certain rules, but I find it rather odd how the forums encourages its users not to use posts that already exist and are relevant to the subject matter and instead create another thread about it.
I don't know how this operates here, but from the forums I come from it's common to use the already existing threads to avoid any and all unnecessary thread spam.

I like this episode. I liked that Pinkie Pie tried to give Gilda, I am all for tolerence and stuff, but I also liked that in the end Gilda turned out to be a jerk after all. I liked the message, just because someone is a jerk, give them a chance, maybe they will surprise you, but they might turn out to be a jerk anyone, but don't like that discourage you. That is realistic message, for every Princess Luna there is a Gilda.

In my review of an Littlest Pet Shop episode "Penny For Your Laughs", there was a similar situation, and I thought this was much better executed. Writers from other shows can learn a thing or two from MLP.

True, for what the writers went with, the execution felt very solid in this episode. I know Gilda is probably the only problem in it, but it's not necessary to see her as an underdeveloped character. DigibronyMLP's analysis seemed to cover Gilda's character quite nicely, Gilda is the cool teenager that doesn't ever show her soft side.
In terms of Gilda's character, that's about all that the episode can afford to cover up, given its time constraint, so it works fine for me. I guess a different direction could be taken, but if this was the final delivery of the screentime split, The way I see it, I'd imagine that they've thought about it already.

Personally, I'm more with you on this, I like the execution of the episode a lot as it is. It doesn't have to sell absolutely true to Gilda to be good, it's good enough that it sells true to Pinkie Pie's development, which I consider to be the more important objective of the episode. ;)

Also, mght I ask where I can find this review of yours? I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of reviews based on that show, maybe I could even be convinced to give it a watch.

Sure no problem. My reviews are on the Littlest Pet Shop thread in the Media board. But this specific episode review, is on this page. Scroll to the review posted on December 1st, 12:24 pm If I might add if you never seen the show, it started off slow, but keeps getting better and better.

This episode was pretty entertaining, especially near the beginning when Pinkie decides to go all Pepe Le Pew and somehow catch up to Dash! I will forever love that old gag

That was one of the best part.  :D

I give it 5 stars, because it was the first episode I watched and it inspired me to keep watching.
I mean, I would have assumed a My Little Pony cartoon was completely vapid (I'm too young to have seen G1, which in hindsight was decent) if someone hadn't told me it had Classical creatures and Looney Tunes gags.  :)

Equestria Daily post about Griffon the Brush Off:

IMO, not sure if I care for this episode, nor am I a fan of how Gilda talks (kind of obnoxious, IMO), but I think it's a decent episode...  The point I perhaps remember most of all, something which buc555 (BucBrony as he's known as now on YouTube) is when Pinkie Pie told Twilight about Gilda, and Twilight assumed Pinkie was just jealous.  Now we KNOW that Pinkie is telling the truth, and that Gilda really IS a jerk, but the fact that Pinkie still considers that a possibility...  well, it's kind of sweet, and endearing to me.  Shows how nice and even thoughtful she can be...  too bad we don't see this introspective Pinkie that often (or at least I didn't).

What I'd REALLY like to see, though, is Gilda's return, AND redemption.  Really, out of all the seemingly shoehorned redemptions we've been getting, Gilda's the only one I think would actually make sense...  and maybe we'd get a little more insight as to why Gilda and Rainbow Dash were friends in the first place!  That, and maybe get a deeper look at the griffon culture, and not totally botch it like they did with the dragon culture in Dragon Quest (we didn't really get to see what dragons were like other then that they're jerks, or at leas teenage ones were jerks).

I would appreciate a deeper look, too. The griffons came off better with Gustave LeGrand, at least. Since then, i didn't believe in a portrayal of griffons being complete jerks or even a hostile warrior race ( some fanfictions...O_O lol).

I totally agree with you. This is one of the reasons Gilda is my least favorite character
