Greeeeeat. Now Hasbro will be free to completely ignore the side-demographic. Well, at least we had one good Season, which is more than the other Pony stuff ever had.

She will still be credited as a "Consulting Producer" but will no longer be directly involved in the show.

While this casts a lot of doubt on Season 2, she is far from the only talented person who worked on Season 1.

Hopefully whoever she leaves the series with will do alright.

Yeah, but sh'e sno longer in charge and will be playing by someone else's rules now. That and just leaving is all the same to me.

She may not have been the only talented person on board, but she was ring master so to speak. Oh man, I only hope she actually did have a say in who the position went to. Well, all I know is that I'm not even considering giving this second season a chance until after the reviews are out.

Oh christ, I saw this kind of response on /co/ but I expected something a little more level-headed here.
Why don't people calm down and actually READ the journal first?

Few major points-

  • Lauren is still Consulting Producer
  • Both head directors and other positions of importance are still filled by the exact same people
  • Season 2 is apparently going to be ramped up, implying no truly drastic changes to the setting or direction, not to mention production had already began- since Lauren has just announced this, she must've still held her old position for at least some of Season 2.

Calm down you guys, at least wait until we get more information before we flip out.

Sorry, Blokeman, but I've been severely let down by too many promising shows that went bad to extend any faith now. Best Night Ever will be the last episode I ever watch until I have confirmation that Season 2 will at least be as good as Season 1 by general audiences after its release. I do not wish for my last memory of FiM to be anything less than the untainted awesomeness that is S1.

You must referring to the troll that's been banning Pony vids while claiming to be Hasbro.

Oh well....

Actually, this looks like it was Lauren's decision.

My guess is she's going to work on her Galaxy Girls thing.

Also, can a mod or someone merge this with the Other thread, or if that's not possible, lock this one and link to the other? It would be best to consolidate this discussion into a single thread.

Really. Some shows can go their entire time on the air without jumping the shark. Here's hoping.

Well if the characters are drawn by the same person, and they keep the same scriptwriters i think it'll be just fine  ;)

I'm really not giving any hope for Season 2 now. The show might end up jumping the shark just like any other show that used to be good. Remember what happened to Spongebob?

We'll just have to wait and see, We can't just Judge future episodes now.  Who knows how good / bad they'll be.

This truly deserves a:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtlqAnbc9YI" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtlqAnbc9YI</a>

BUT! Executive Director doesn't really mean the whole series is going to shit. It's not like that person does EVERYthing from writing to animating to designing etc. etc.

So really, don't flip the fuck out. If the series was being handed over to another company, then yes, THAT would be a legit reason to flip the fuck out, but here, we're just seeing a change of director, everyone else (script writers, animators, etc) are still staying the same.

And besides, with lots of people on the team on twitter and facebook and DA and such, it's easy for people to voice their opinion about what they want to see.

I'm really not giving any hope for Season 2 now. The show might end up jumping the shark just like any other show that used to be good. Remember what happened to Spongebob?

Apparently something ~7 episodes were complete or nearly complete at the time Faust left.

I'm not too worried. Like she said, she's still pitching in at the idea phase, and in the credits I've seen names familiar from other good shows.

My involvement in Season 2 ultimately does not reach far beyond story conception and scripts.
That, that makes me hopeful.

Gonna wait until I hear who's replacing her before I loss all hope, maybe it's someone who will stand up to the comercialism like Faust did.

This saddens me since the show came about because of her. Don't get me wrong. Good TV shows, even creator driven ones are never done by a single person. Season 1 has proven that Faust had a really talented team under her and since that won't be changing, neither will my hope for Season 2.

As long as they don't alter the characters' personalities or recycle plots or pull a Scrappy Doo, I'll be happy. Although I wouldn't mind Cheerilee popping up more often.

Oh dear.... I'm concerned, but I'll still give it a try.  That's really unfortunate though, I know it'll be the same people except for her but that's exactly what happened with Gargoyles third season.

ugh this is bad news, but I'll give Season 2 a shot anyway, maybe it'll still be as good.

Spongebob had quite a few years before it got to it's point. Most people say it was the episodes after the Movie when Spongebob jumped the shark, I don't think this show is going to jump the shark in less then a year.

And don't worry guys, the rest of the crew are just as fun ad nice to the community as Faust is. It's sad to see Lauren's not the director anymore but I wouldn't say it's time to worry just yet.
