How do you make PMV's?
« on: February 05, 2012, 05:07:03 PM »
Probably a dumb question, but what advise do people have if I want to make a PMV, y'know in terms of software and the like.
Fancy reading a fanfiction by Charlemagne2011, pre-read by yours truely? No? Tough. Read it guys.

I tried to think of something incredibly witty, and I did, but I'll pretend I'm not at all funny and that I'm below average intelligence, which I'm not, I'm incredibly intellectual-umm I mean, I'm a twat? And use no emoticons?

I use windows movie maker for everything, which I suggest avoiding like the plague if you can afford anything else.
It is absolutely the most horrific piece of shit ever invented.

Subscribe to my youtube channel. I'm funny and cool, I promise.

I use Sony Vegas for most of my PMVs. And while I never make PMVs on it, I've made lots of AMVs on iMovie in the past, which is pretty good for someone new to video editing

I haven't made a PMV since last year and I used WMM.

Then I went to read and write fics instead.

Sony Vegas Pro 11.
It takes loads of time to make one though, it's easy to learn but not quick.

I personally use Adobe Premiere, only because that's what I've been familiarized with in my school's Multimedia classes. I think that Vegas is better for audio stuff and Adobe for video shenanigans, but don't quote me on that.

I go the cheap-ass way and use Windows Movie Maker. It truly IS a piece of shit as Drowning stated, but it does the job and it does it for free so my broke ass doesn't have to go even more broke.

To get the footage itself, you'll have to spend time downloading the episodes you want. There are many free YouTube downloaders floating around the net--just google it and you'll find a program that rips any YouTube video right to your computer. Pick through the footage, edit it in a crafty way to go with your desired mp3, and voila!

I agree with you 10,000,000%

I myself use VideoPad; it's nothing amazing, pretty simple, but has some good tools and effects. Overall, gets the job done. :)

All you gotta do is take some clips of ponies
Lay them out back to back
Then you need a song that is enjoyed by bronies
That'll be your sound track
Making these vids is such a cinch, put your name upon the credits
If you get a lotta views you never know, it might just end up on reddit!
Ponyvids, so fun and happy
Ponyvids, whether grim or sappy
Ponyvids, ponyvids, PONYVIDS!

I figured, and didn't want to embarrass you... even though I never make misteaks myself.
