The more of Death Stranding is shown the more confused I get, even when there was gameplay this time. Sometimes I wonder if this is going to be the strategy for selling the game, so people can figure out what the hell is going on.

And it made my day to know the Resident Evil 2 remake is coming soon. Looks like it will be a remake in every sense of the word, the story will probably change in some places too, but I understand considering how old the original game is.

And great work to whoever worked on the trailer, because it really captured the terrifying part of Resident Evil. The Death Stranding one also left me pretty spooked, I think I was holding my breath along with the characters.

Also, just learned Yakuza 0 and Kiwami is coming to PC. HELL YES.

Really quick pre-Nintendo conference list of what I'm hoping for in the new Smash (just in general, not specifically in the conference)

Mechanics: ultimately make it less defensive, campy and slow than Smash 4. Longer hitstun, faster moves and less knockback on non finishing moves to allow for more unique character combos. Essentially something like the speed and combo diversity of Melee, but with the accessibility of Smash 4. The lack of interesting combos in Smash 4 was part of what made it so bland (practically EVERY character had a down throw > fair or utilt > utilt > uair > uair combo and it got really boring) and so I'd like to see that addressed in the new game. Also it'd be cool if they took a page out of Capcom's book and gave us the option to choose different mechanic styles for each character, so we could choose for each character to have either Melee or modern style mechanics/physics when we pick them on the character select (unlikely, but I can dream :/). And no L cancelling, L cancelling was a dumb and stupid idea that should never return, don't @ me

Online: Fix the lag and give us an actual ranking system. Also, give us an option to turn off the stage hazards of every stage (a mechanic that EVERYONE has been wanting for years now) and make that option mandatory for the competitive 1v1 mode. It would certainly be a lot better than the Final Destination stages they made for Smash 4 (I still find it hilarious that Nintendo actually bought the Fox only, no items, Final Destination meme). Also, custom lobbies would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath

Roster: Ice Climbers, Wolf, Midna, Linkle, Shovel Knight/Shantae, Travis Touchdown, an Undertale character (just to piss off the people who hate Undertale, lol), maybe Sora (probably not Sora)? Also, don't remove any characters from Smash 4, Smash 4's roster was one of the best parts of that game and it would be sad to see all the crazy characters from that game (Cloud, Ryu, Megaman, Pac Man, etc) not return. I'd understand if they couldn't make that happen, but I wouldn't be any less disappointed

Aaaand now a post-conference pros and cons of the Smash display

PROS
Solid Snake is ACTUALLY FUCKING BACK
THEY PUT RIDLEY IN THE FUCKING GAME AFTER LIKE ALMOST 20 YEARS OF SAYING HE'S TOO BIG ARE YOU KIDDING ME
Even though they nerfed it, the fact that they brought back directional air dodging is pretty fucking big, holy shit
Sound effects are WAY better sounding in this, Smash 4's sound effects were really weak and disappointing compared to Brawl's

CONS
It's coming out December and not September like everyone expected, disappointing
Overall, the game looks to be more of a port-that-got-turned-into-a-new-game rather than a whole new game
Physics and speed seem to be unchanged from Smash 4, which unfortunately means more down throw fairs, endless utilts and just generally samey combos. Sigh
Despite this being the ABSOLUTE PERFECT GAME TO FIX HIM, Ganondorf is somehow STILL a fucking Falcon clone? Goddamn it
Apparently there's not gonna be a lot of newcomers in this game
Midna is still an assist trophy...:'(

NEUTRAL
The more-damage-for-1v1s thing is an...interesting way to fix the problem of competitive 1v1 being really slow. I guess I'd take that over nothing, but at the same time I'd prefer for combat to just be...well, faster in general? It feels a bit like a band aid solution to me, I dunno
Inklings are pretty much exactly what everyone expected them to be in all those moveset prediction videos. Not really a good or bad thing since they were good ideas, just a thing
I'm...not sure if I like the new art style? At first when I saw it I thought everything looked kinda plastic-y and fake, but it kinda grew on me a little bit as I watched more
