for aiding a non rebel, cruciel? are you blinded by this sense of duty that you've lost sight of honor? My loyalty lies in myself and those I choose to call my shieldkin. Much like you had once been. if you had not done anything to my Fyall.... then why not help me find the one who did? That fool Mortes perhaps? I will admit I let my ire get the better of me, but would you take chances if the positions were reversed?Jianding spoke upYou waste you time Fjordhammer.... your cousin has lost his sense of justice and honor....
I've been brainwashed so many times there is nothing left in here but soap suds
Mortes walked up to the king's hall, hopefully the king was here so he could hear out Mortes' ultimate accomplishment. Working with the nightkin's souls was almost impossible at first, but after constant experimentation he had finally devised the perfect being. This could only come into fruition if he had the king's approval, but Mortes had no doubt he could get it.
Release my shieldkin Cruciel, and I will set this one free leave everyone to their affairs.
*As Mortes walked a guard walked past him, and for a moment he saw several protection runs flash in his mind.*
Last chance.... let go of my sheildkin. You don't need them and I want no part in this stupid war that bears no weight and means shit.
Mortes was confused by what he saw, and thought about analyzing the situation, but he had little time to dilly dally. He finally reached the throne room and bowed. My king, I have important news for you...
*The throne was surrounded by ethereal figures with unknown runs that glowed with strange magics. The one that stuck out was a the giving off the aura of a Night-kin.*
Mortes looked around in confusion, unsure of what was happening. I've never seen anything like this...
I'm not sure if I can trust you anymore cousin... will be detained as soon as I reach the court? You're just going to let them take me after I helped you!?I don't believe I asked for your help... he directed his attention back to Cruciel if you leave me and my sheildkin be I will go my own way and find the assailant of Fyall... but tell me. Why was her symbol on that parchment? Did she speak to you? or you to her?
I see you survived the merge... *He noticed where Mortes was looking.* Best you ignore them. Now, what are you here for?
Mortes nodded and bowed slightly. As I said earlier, I had reached a break through with the nightkin souls you gave me. I have found a way to bind them to powerful gods, but they still only hold a fraction of the power they could have. Mortes began to reach for his book, but realized that it was gone for the time being and continued on with his explanation. But recently I have found a way to unlock it's full power...
then it should be very simple.... release my shieldkin, then......
*The figures moved towards him as the king leaned forwarded.* If you intend to use him to do this then I will not allow it. He uses honeyed words to weaken your control over him.
Mortes shook his head. No sir, I wouldn't have any idea of how to do that to him. There are only a few beings that could possibly hold this power, and I only know of two... You are one of them, but that is out of the question, as it requires to turn you into a mindless husk. Mortes then used fire in his hands to make Apex's symbol. And Apex, the leader of the rebellion you wish to squash... If we can somehow incapacitate him we could bind the nightkin to his soul and use him to destroy his own rebellion. You know the power of the nightkin sir, and coupled with Apex's... Mortes paused and imagined the destruction that could be wrought from such a force of nature.
they are not yours to turn to harbingers...Cruciel this is an injustice!shut up!it seemed evident that Cruciel would leave his shieldkin to regenerate in their pods if only he surrendered the captive and followed Cruciel... he thought for a moment and then slowly walked towards Cruciel with the captive still in his grip. Cast off your symbols from them, then you and all here walk slowly over the threshold and i will release this one and follow you. none of yours will be harmed and i will not be detained with her... those are my terms.
you can't be serious Fjordhammer! Cruciel you lap dog!You can have her then, but until your "honor" is fulfilled i'm hanging on to this one. let's move! Fjordhammer made his way outside still clutching the nervous hostage.
If that was doable then I would just have him imprisoned with is powers locked away. On top of that I still believe his followers are misguided, to let his slater them would deny those who can be taken back in.
he marched with cruciel and the harbingers to the king. after his little ordeal was sorted out, he would go his own way and find whomever afronted his clan. besides, there was no crime for a tiff between the gods... atleast that's how he'd recognized it before this idiotic war. they approached the king's palace.now what? we wait to approach the throne for what could be whole cosmic revolutions?
Mortes hid his malice for the king not agreeing with him. Maybe, but remember my king, it will always be an option. You need only tell me and I will find a way.
*Cruciel had his mark floating over Jianding's heart, locking her powers away.* First this one shall report to the king, the faster things are cleared up between them the better for everyone. Any questions or updates you wish to report? *The king could sense the return of his former champion.* It seems that she one lost child has returned, bring her here Mortes.
As you wish sire... Mortes body disappeared in a puff of black smoke and appeared in front of Cruciel. He looked over to Jianding and bowed. Jianding, champion of the cosmoids, oh how far you've fallen. Mortes laughed in a smug manner, delighting in the situation they found themselves in.
