Weapons: teacher, mother, secret lover.  The smashy, crashy, slashy way to express to others your dissatisfaction with them.  let us talk about and show our favorite nihilistic self-preservers, shall we?

The Land Shark Gun - Armed and Dangerous - summons burrowing sharks to gnarl your enemies into the air before pulling them down into the abyss never to be seen again.  I do know about the SharkOMatic from Saints Row 3, but the attack is over so quickly.  There's no savoring the brutality!  That shake the land shark does to break apart your enemies' bones?  The cherry on the sundae, my friends.

Mr. Toots - he's a unicorn who shits rainbows.  'Nuff said.  'Nuff said.

anything Frank uses in Shadow Hearts: From The New World
A JRPG featuring a Brazilian ninja trained by a talking, drunken cat who fights in the name of America.  Makes sense to me.  Frank takes whatever he finds, attaches it to a sword hilt, and uses it as a weapon in battle.  His choice blades range from cacti, bus stop signs, dead marlins, fireworks, even oden stew.

Truth be told, Mr. Zurkon's not the strongest weapon around.  He follows you and bum rushes any enemy while firing weak shots at them.  But it's his Schwarzenegger quips that make him so darn fun!  "Mr. Zurkon does NOT come in peace!"

Finally a thread that I wanna post in!

I'm surprised you didn't even mention the iconic Great Knife from Silent Hill 2. Literally just a massive hunk of iron, not even a remotely practical weapon even for Pyramid Head himself due to how heavy it is. But good note on the Cerebral Bore. Just straight up favorite gun right there.

The Baten Kaitos series has a lot of memorable weapons, I dunno if I'd want to focus on Kalas's weird sword thing or Lyude's stupid trumpet guns, but when I think of Baten Kaitos weapon's I think of good ol' Gibari and his fishing oars of DESTRUCTIVE POWER. Man, I need to play through Baten Kaitos again, I still need to collect all the Magnus...

See the bunny bees and puffs of steam from singing kettles in the trees. Bread and butterflies with fork and knives who like to make a meal of time.

I'm pretty fond of gunblades and gunswords. Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII has a sweet one, Squall from Final Fantasy VIII (although I never did really fully understand how that one works), and Fie from Trails of Cold Steel has fucking AWESOME gunswords.
Ask me anything!

You mean how pulling a trigger makes a blade sharper?

Oh man I used to be all about the gunblades. In this shitty Lego stop motion movie I tried making in middle school (which is now a shitty fictional literary world), I had my cool, edgy character use a gunblade. I cut the blade off a sword and glued it to a pistol.

I actually think Squall's standard gun-blade's pretty dumb looking.
The Lion Heart, on the other hand....

As far as my personal favourites go, Ilidan's blades, from Warcraft, always fascinated me, no matter how unpractical they seem to be.

The Clementine, from Brutal Legend. It's a guitar, that:
-Shoots lighting
-Can summon beasts
-Buff allies
-Melt enemies faces
-Summon at Hot Rod
Need anything else?

Soul Edge, from the Soul Calibur Series.

I mean, the look kinda speaks for itself, amiright?
If only this weapon wasn't so evil....

Such a wonderful wolf :3

I just played Wolfenstein The New Order again and really like the design and functionality of the Laserkraftwerk, a two-in-one laser cutting tool and potent directed energy weapon which will make Nazis literally explode.

"I'm coming for you, Nazi fucking spaceman."

The Tone from Titanfall 2 because why not.

The Conference Call from Borderlands 2 because it literally shoots a wall of lead.

And customized possessed scythes from Darksiders 2

I gravitate to shotguns in shooters especially pump action. But shotguns always have that rep of either being the hand of god or spit wads any further than 5 feet. Its hard to properly balance shotguns given their unconventional physics nature when almost every other gun in a game is just a thin straight line of death and you are only adjusting the rate of fire or strength of that line.

I feel the same way, especially in games where it takes few shots to down a target. For a long time I never realized that in at least some games, you were supposed to take advantage of the pellet spread to hit multiple targets, I myself just enjoyed sneaking up on targets and blasting them apart.

I think F.E.A.R had was the most fun when it came to shotguns, that VK-12 was so insane that you could almost feel the recoil IRL when you fired it, and even at longer ranges it was pretty destructive.

Shotguns on the classic Resident Evil games were fantastic as well. To this day, using it to blow a Zombie's brains out gives me a lot of satisfaction. There are the Magnum revolvers too, but you don't get to use them as often due to limited ammo.

Ooh, I can get in on this...

Let me talk about a favorite of mine from a recent favorite game of mine:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J9z7YBMR5Q" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J9z7YBMR5Q</a>

This beautiful monster of a scimitar/scythe has huge range, wide arcs, the highest "rally" potential, and can deal MEAN amounts of damage to most foes if powered up correctly with the right gems. Also, as shown in the video, it has an extremely varied and interesting set off attacks and combinations that can make you quite the deadly force to fight against. It's biggest drawbacks seem to be it's slow attack speed when in scythe form (which can be rectified when transforming into the sword form), and the fact it can't be buffed with fire, bolt, or arcane. That, and it's an end game weapon, only attainable by

I personally use it on my main file (Which I like to call my "NIGHTMARE CREATURES 3" file) along side the Amygdalan's Arm as the slot B weapon (which is all kinds of cool in it's own right), and the Evelyn as the firearm.
PLEASE check out my fanfic Elements Change the Dark Hearts and give me feedback. I need any and ALL criticisms!

I can respect that. The run-of-the-mill scythes in the Souls Series were some of my favorites, just good ol' slabs of metal strapped to drift wood. Just like Death intended.

Guess I'll contribute. Uh...

More of a general weapon, really. Fists/Pilebunkers. More of a recent fascination of mine, too. Their gameplay is just so satisfying, close range, pressure, combos, and especially boxing inspired techniques. (Throw a Dempsey Roll into your movelist and you got my attention)

Oh, Bloodborne also does have a pilebunker style weapon. The Stake-Driver:

It's not easy to use... but if you can land a charged "ready" R2, it does RIDICULOUS damage.

I was tempted to mention that, but having never played Bloodborne figured I'd mention other ones. But yeah, if I'm not mistaken BB is getting a PC port, so there's a good chance I'll be rocking that the whole game through.

Also it seems like I'm the only person on this forum who hasn't played Bloodborne, which is a weird feeling as a Souls fan.

... I hope Code Vein has a pilebunker. Or at least a solid knuckle weapon aside from the claws shown in current footage.

Personally never heard the Bloodborne PC port rumor myself. Care to link that?

Also, I'm also rather interested in Code Vein. It's been a long time since we've had a decent vampire game...

Looking it up right now, not seeing it. Hm. I'm 95% certain I saw SOMETHING that was something of a solid confirmation, maybe I was wrong? Eh. Don't care too much either way. I've a lot of issues with its PvP implementation, which is what I always came to the Souls series for.

And yeah, Code Vein is coming along nicely. It's been awhile since I've been rather excited for a AAA title. I don't even really care that it's a Souls Style game, mind you. It just looks like bloody good fun.
