Author Topic: Inserting Youtube vids in my profile (via My Media)  (Read 1513 times)

So, I'm trying to insert an image and a video into the "My Media" section. I found HTML codes for both the image and the video, and the image was inserted fine and works.

But, when I try to insert a video, it does nothing. It's nowhere to be seen on my profile, and when I go back and look at it, the code is deleted.

I've tried using the Youtube Embed link, but still, it just doesn't work for me. Is there another code or something for putting in Youtube links in the "My Media?"

Umm, I'll be honest when I say I don't entirely know how this particular part of the forum profile works, however links to break for youtube links. Try this, in the URL, where it says https, just as an example, remove the s

so, take
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEfCPWl5Oj0

and turn it to

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEfCPWl5Oj0

I don't know if this will work, it's just a suggestion!

Thanks for the help, but I have tried that, with the embed code, but sadly, it still does the same thing.

This is what you need to do.

Code: [Select]
<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/B3pssWFcyaY?version=3&amp;hl=fi_FI" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/B3pssWFcyaY?version=3&amp;hl=fi_FI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" /></object>
It'll show up in your My Media as so. (Just replace the YouTube URL in the code with the video of your choice, edited as it is shown in the code.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3pssWFcyaY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3pssWFcyaY</a>

To make the change replace "watch?v" with "/v/" and make sure the link is fixed to 'http:' and not 'https:'.
